  This young French tenor started his musical studies in Paris Sorbonne then at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris where he won a First Prize in Chamber Music and singing.

Since he made his debuts on stage with the role of Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni in Grasse, Draguignan and Loches Festival, he has sung a diverse repertoire including: Belmonte (Die Entführung aus dem Serail); Ferrando (Cosi fan Tutte) ; Tamino (Die Zauberflöte); Rodolfo (La Bohème); Arnold (Guillaume Tell) in Angers; the Duke (Rigoletto) in Draguignan and Arturo (Lucia di Lammermoor) with Marseille Opera.

Other engagements for Mr. Monvoising include: Pinkerton (Madame Butterfly) in Draguignan; Bénédict (Béatrice and Bénédict) with the Opéra du Rhin-Strasbourg; Eisenstein (Die Fledermaus) with Opera de Lyon; Bacchus (Ariadna auf Naxos) in Rennes; Nicias (Thais) in Angers and Mylio (Le Roi d'Ys) in Tours.

He was mostly appraised for his interpretation of Hoffmann with Opera de Lyon and Vienna Kammeroper in March 1997, and Faust, a role he had sung several times in Loches Festival, Brou Festival, Dijon, Tours and, more recently, in Essen.

As a soloist on the concert stage, Mr. Monvoisin has sung many works including : Rossini Stabat Mater and Petite Messe Solennelle, Verdi Requiem, Puccini Messa di Gloria, Berlioz Requiem, Beethoven's 9th Symphony and Chausson's Poème de l'Amour et de la Mer.

In the past few years Jean Francis Monvoisin has sung : Pollione (Norma) with Scottish Opera, Le Chateau des Carpathes in Nancy and Caen, Les Contes d'Hoffmann in Limoges and Tours, Werther in Dijon, Arturo (I Puritani) in Lecce with R.Bonynge, Fenelon's Salammbo and Norma for his debuts with Opera de Paris Bastille. He also sang Cavaradossi (Tosca) in Vichy, Don Carlos in Metz, Cavaradossi in Dijon, Pollione in Angers, Don José of Carmen in Limoges, Pinkerton in Saint Etienne, La Navarraise in Rennes, Le Château des Carpathes with Lyon Orchestre and La Damnation de Faust in Bremen.

In 1999 he made his debut in the USA as Romeo (Roméo et Juliette) with Cleveland Opera and in Canada as Rodolfo with Montreal Opera. In 2000 he sang I Pagliacci and Cavalleria Rusticana with Hawaii Opera.

Most recently Mr. Monvoisin sang : Bacchus (Ariadne auf Naxos) with Marseille Opera , Don José and Cavaradossi with Teatro Prolirica in Lima (Peru), Des Grieux (Manon) with Limoges Opera, Cavaradossi and Hoffmann in Marmande, Faust in Essen, Radames in Lubeck and Cairo, Don José in Dijon and Nimes, Il Tabarro and Gianni Schicci in Fribourg Opera, Oedipe sur la route with Theatre de la Monnaie (March 2003) , Damnation de Faust in Grand Theatre de Geneve (June 2003).
