After a piano and composition degree, Giuseppe Grazioli learnt orchestral conducting with Gianluigi Gelmetti, Leopold Hager, Franco Ferrara, Peter Maag and Leonard Bernstein. He then led the main Italian Orchestras such as Accademia di Santa Cecilia, RAI Orchestra, Orchestra Sinfonica Siciliana, Orchestra Toscanini di Parma, Orchestra Verdi di Milano, and the Orchestras of the opera houses of Bologna, Rome, Trieste and Verona Arena. In 2001, he was invited to La Scala for the closing Concert before its restoration; he then conducted the final of Operalia Competition in Paris (Théâtre du Châtelet) after which Placido Domingo invited him to Washington for Lucia di Lammermoor. With a large repertoire ranging from classical to contemporary music, Giuseppe Grazioli premiered in Italy Leonard Bernstein’s Mass, Paul McCartney’s Liverpool Oratorio, Nicola Piovani’s ballet Fellini, as well as the world première of Marco Tutino's Vita in 2003 leading La Scala’s Orchestra.

After his debut in Saint-Etienne, he has been often invited In France where he conducted: Rigoletto, Petrouchka, L’Oiseau de Feu, El Retablo de Maese Pedro, Le Roid’Ys, Don Carlo L’Italiana in Algeri, Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Le Comte Ory, Jackie O, Tutino’s Cirano, La Bohème at Metz Opera, La Traviata, L’Heure Espagnole/Les Mamelles de Tirésias, Don Giovanni, Don Pasquale, L’Etoile, La Voix Humaine, Un Ballo in Maschera, Véronique, Idomeneo, Candide in Rennes, Le Carillon, La Veuve Joyeuse, Pelléas et Mélisande, Le Nozze di Figaro, La Cenerentola, Die Entführung aus dem Serail and La Flûte Enchantée in Saint-Etienne, Lucia di Lammermoor in Avignon, Don Pasquale in Lille and Lyon, Candide in Rouen, Roméo et Juliette in Tours, La Cenerentola and Madama Butterfly in Bordeaux, Mozart Requiem at Marseille Festival de Musique Sacrée.

Giuseppe Grazioli has recently appeared at Turin's Regio Theater (Orphée aux Enfers, La Tempesta and Le Nozze di Figaro), Rome's Opera Theater (Il Gatto con gli Stivali), Yale University (Gianni Schicchi, Suor Angelica, A Midsummer Night’s Dream), Genoa's Carlo Felice Theater (Candide), Cosenza's Teatro Rendano (L’Elisir d’Amore), Milan's Auditorium (La Rondine, Orphée aux Enfers). Among his recordings are some rarities of 20th century by De Falla, Auric, Martinu, Casella, Malipiero, Rieti, Lambert, Bax, Bartok as well as several compositions of Nino Rota: La Visita Meravigliosa, Lo Scoiattolo in gamba and Cristallo di Rocca with Orchestra Verdi. More recently, Giuseppe Grazioli has made the first world recording of Zandonai's Quadri di Segantini, at the head of Bolzano's Haydn Orchestra. Programmed for this and future seasons are: Cavalleria Rusticana/Le Villi in Metz, Le Comte Ory in Nantes and Angers, The Beggar’s Opera in Bologna and Reggio Emilia, and Kiss me Kate in Milan, Così fan tutte and Idomeneo (Richard Strauss version) in St.Etienne, Macbeth in Rennes, symphonic concerts with Orchestra Sinfonica Giuseppe Verdi and Orquesta SInfonica de Tenerife.Giuseppe Grazioli has also been invited to Washington Opera 2008/2009 season with Les Pêcheurs de perles.
